Final Breath

By Ananya Bansal

Peace? Tranquility?

A thousand thoughts in my head

But none fills me with dreadS

The slight chill in the air

Takes away all the despair

As the mind becomes clear

I delve into a new type of fear

What will happen to my chaotic side

When I surpass this dramatic tide

But as the calm gets in

I settle the beast within

As I take my final breath

And take a step closer to death

I look back one last time

And in this I spend the last of my dime
