FINAL ACCEPTANCE

Yesterday,

my spirit languished in sorrow and strain,

obscured by reflections that felt like endless rain.

Today,

I parted the curtains wide,

and welcomed the sunlight I once kept outside.

Not every ending arrives to destroy,

some gently restore you to solace and joy.

Some farewells do not tear you apart,

they quietly escort you back home to your heart.

And honestly?

After all I’ve journeyed through,

I’m learning to cherish the woman I grew into.
