Feelings

What are these feelings

It’s all so nostalgic

It feels that it was only yesterday

That I finally overcame

What hurt me the most

But guess what

It didn’t take long

For those feelings to hit me again

A hundred times harder

Who is a friend?

Is it someone you know from before?

Who is a lover?

Is it someone you know everything about?

How was I supposed to know any of this

But now

Now that my mind is full of nothing

Nothing but unorganised thoughts which cause me tremendous pain

I realise

A true friend isn’t someone you know everything about

It’s someone you care for

Someone you want to know everything about

A lover isn’t someone you love because you know everything about them

You want to know everything about them because you love them

But what are we supposed to do

If they don’t understand

What are we to do

If they’re not willing to understand

A single stone can shatter that castle of glass

Which was built with great care

The same way a single mistake can destroy that relation

That you’ve put everything into

Oh that feeling

To go back in time before all that happened

The feeling to ensure that such a mishap never took place

But now all we have is regret

And it seems that drowning in regret has become my pastime

All I can do is think and write

Because the person whom I want to explain this to

Isn’t ready to understand
