FARMER

By Agnes Salome Jaison

He tills the land and sows the seeds

Prays for rain to bless his field…

He removes the weeds…

And collects the yield…

Challenges many he has to face…

From sowing to the selling phase

Without anybody to support him

He’s left alone to face the rhythm

Though his crop feeds the whole world…

By this world, he is taken advantage of…

His dreams are forever furled…

And his future thereof…

Though knowledge about the field he owns

The knack of how to protect himself with it he lacks

Does our duty stop with giving him loans?

Isn’t it also our duty to help him out of his drawbacks?
