Fallen Grace

By Damien Basumatary

At a glance, into a hollow dark space

Vanished, as if it was not there before

Leaves that aided me from the burning rays

I plucked them and each left feelings of sore

Took for granted, his selfless acts of grace

Can't tell how my resentment his heart tore

Everytime, how these words set all ablaze

Dull days, my soul still screams a lion's roar

Forgiveness for him gone into the haze

Floor in red pricked me as I pushed the door

That sight burst me out, as he lay lifeless

Anger went away, his life mattered more

Sadly, the only rival and guide rests

What a wonder, cut down to part our ways.
