Faith & Gratitude
By Haripriya Rao
Is such a forgotten word,
I’ve only seen a few people use it -
Always in the context of
God and his World -
His creation, His Design, His Universe.
I like to think,
That He gave me a tiny place,
In his World too,
One that is completely mine.
Yes, it is my World,
The one within the Big one -
The one with all the
People I love,
Blessings I’ve received,
Privileges I’ve been endowed,
Relationships I’ve enjoyed,
And all the Love,
I’ve been gifted.
This World,
However tiny it may seem,
has taught me:
To stand on my own two tiny feet.
It has taught me,
In gentle kindness,
As a mother teaches her child -
The experiences that make me,
Me.
This World,
In all its beauty has shown,
Who I (think) am,
And who I aspire to be.
All of me,
is all of My World,
And for it all,
I will be eternally grateful.
Gratitude:
Tis such a forgotten word,
I’ve only seen a few people use it -
Always in the context of
His creation, His Design, His Universe.
I like to think,

In his World too,

This World,
However tiny it may seem,
has taught me:
To stand on my own two tiny feet.
It has taught me,
In gentle kindness,
As a mother teaches her child -
The experiences that make me,
Me.
This World,
In all its beauty has shown,
Who I (think) am,
And who I aspire to be.
All of me,
is all of My World,
And for it all,
I will be eternally grateful.
In a world that runs on,
“You’re not good enough!
Try harder!!”
Be the person,
You wish you’d met.
In a world that makes you feel
Less important, or
Irrelevant,
Make yourself a priority.
In a world that values
Productivity over mental stability,
Be a friend,
You wish you had.
In a world that defines
Conflict as power,
Be the one who chooses,
Peace.
In a world that
forgets relationships,
Be the one
who makes an effort.
Why me? You may ask.
Instead, ask yourself:
Why not you?
