Failed Happiness

By Sahana D S

My eyes swim.

They can't control themselves.

I can't blame them because, neither can my mind.

My heart, a rotten, fruitless tree.

I long for amity

in my aureate but useless life.

I could be a masterpiece with all the broken parts inside of me…

but I choose to sit and wallow in my pitiful self.

My eyes still swim

but this time, they swim because of you.
