Faded Lights
By Riddhi Oza
Anonymous confessions, hidden lies, all told underneath the moonlight
people lying, loyalty dying, yet the pretense doesn’t fall, they crumble down but walk again, oblivion to the mysterious stroll
Murmurs and whispers, muffled whimpers of course, heart is paining, for so many relations are failing, so many bonds are changing… so it’s obvious that faith too, is trembling
beauty blended in malicious souls, darkness surrounds, and devil roars angels sing the song never sung before,
what a sight it is, to watch the chaotic blue and red glow
poems written in black emotions whirled in deck sailors yell across the shore hoping someone would hear, someone would know
but the world has deafened, lost its ethics and morals where the eyes have greed, and heart is replaced with laurels
faded lights, craving love, chasing life, speed is all they know, robots rushing from door to door, searching and searching, yet lost in the core
someday someone will
tell them to stop,
perhaps the city light will appear how it once was
deprived of fog
people will rejoice
at festive nights,
devices shall be off,
and you will see only the candle lights
imagine, it would be such a delight,
to witness this surreal sight!
