Extraordinary

People tell me I'm extraordinary

That I'm too smart to be wasting it

I'm trying my hardest

But my heart, rock solid

Is slowly crumbling

Into nothing

They want me to be fearless

Someone who will be the best

But they want me to break

So they can mold me into something perfect

Can they see I'm slowly

Losing every sense of sanity

I'm already desperate to hold onto

It keeps raining

 thunder and lightening

Roars inside my head

Any drop that begs to stay

In the dry lakes of my heart

Are drained like every aspect

Of humanity I beg to still be a part of

They are breaking every part of me

I consider to be gentle and sweet

Because I'm extraordinary

But if I stop running for once

And slow down

Will they find someone to replace me,

Someone just as extraordinary

Someone who's going to be better

A better remoulded version of what they used to be

Burnt in the oven, screaming as they freeze

We're all just tools to them

Just a bunch of fools

Who were born extraordinary
