Ever So Silently (06/07/2026)

I wait for my pen to move, but it remains as still as ever,

it's been a few months, will I be this sad forever?

I grip onto hope until it's out of my reach,

my nails drag across the floor, a cry, a screech.

Until they're ripped out, leaving nothing but bare flesh,

blood seeps out, mixing with that which isn't fresh.

My eyes go dry, yet my face is an ocean,

I taste it on my lips when I'm stuck in dissociation.

I thought I won that battle, but I guess not,

I lay on my back, my blood is yet to clot.

I'm swarmed with fatigue, a painless, numbing death,

my heart is beating, but I'm losing my breath.

I've been screaming, hoping, praying,

now I stay quiet and stare at the ceiling.

For if they cared, they would've heard me,

instead, I conserve the last of my energy.

My final words come as a whimper, ever so silently,

"Winter has learned its cold from me."
