Even If It's 'What If'

Even if it’s ‘what if’

I treasure every instant,

Every moment I have with you.

I am all too aware that 

Nothing is forever and-

Tomorrow, we could be an illusion.

What if everything turned out to be a dream?

What if nothing ever happened between us?

What if it became like, we were never real?

Even the mere thought of it makes my heart throb.

We were naïve, we are frail.

Like the flowers, we used to gift each other,

All we could do is to dream a sweet dream.

Cherish each and every moment,

We have with each other.

Be real when we still have each other.

Some parts of me really think of it this way, 

What if the hands which held me were never yours?

What if the shoulders I leaned onto were never yours?

What if the moments we held dear were never ours?

What if the anchor which kept me afloat weren’t you?

What if we weren’t destined to live and to love?

What if we weren’t truly each other’s reason?

What if our promise won’t be forever?

Even the mere thought of it makes my heart throb.

We were delicate, we are mild.

Like the clouds and sky, we used to stargaze at,

Even if we could be an illusion, it will only be tomorrow,

We are living in the today.

And for now, I believe it is okay

If I live in the present.

All my worries only do exist in the future,

And they aren’t within my reach yet, 

I am living in the present.

Even if what’s waiting me is a cluster of ‘what if’ s

I will be real when we still have each other.
