Eulogy Of A Chair

Updated: Oct 4, 2024

Grander than grandiose, a life lived king size!

Sought by all, rarely unheeded in the confine of walls.

Carrying umpteen burdens on itself with grace and poise,

Embracing with an unmistakable comfort.

Few snuggled alone on cold nights, wiping off a dry tear,

Few rested their tired bodies, after a hard day’s toil,

Few rejoiced on happy days, as if there’s no tomorrow to celebrate,

Few made it witness to silent introspections, of What Man has made of Man.

But Time takes a prudent toll; decay comes to all.

The rich, the poor, the beauty, the beast et’ al.

What remains are mere bones of the flesh it always boasted, endless.

Worn out and abandoned as a carcass of thankless forgotten tales.
