Eternal

Years away from the raincoats and rainbows,

I grasp at the faint memories.

Still, however, held strong by those beautiful emotions,

Fastened onto my mending soul.

I tire from the daily and walk into the maybe,

Far away from what I called home.

What was a seemingly unending labor,

Somehow my destiny and purpose.

What I deemed beneath me, incapable of connection,

Somehow, my breath of life.

Someone my oasis, someone my anchor

Someone I hide behind me, tirelessly, subconsciously, dutifully.

The anchor, the oasis, my responsibility, eventually.

As atlas emerged, my young soul broke

And yet here I stand.

I stand, for I realized.

I might crave the power of atlas,

But I am yet a mere mortal.

My power stems from the blossoms I find on my way, my love for them

Eternal.
