Enigma of the Anima

The midnight inquisition coils thickly in the air.

What impetus coheres it to this decay?

Aspirations chained, achieved, and dusted —

When does it feel bliss?

Something compelled this and witnesses,

Mocking its entire existence.

Pulls the strings like puppets —

Does it gaze in delight at this blazing misery?

Feasting on mourning, wreckage and demise,

Just like a child smashing a toy car.

Perhaps bored of this endless succession,

But not wanting to terminate the loop.

Or worse — it’s suppositional,

And we perpetrated this ourselves.

An orchestra of chaos,

In the name of ecstatic mortality.

Descendants — never the rebuttal,

Just the remnants of the bygone,

Who’ll stand the same way and question,

While the way out is always an eerie stillness.
