Elegy for Elysium

Amidst the whispers of a dying breeze,
Echoes of a forgotten paradise seize
My heart, a wanderer, yearning to roam
In search of Elysium, a haven, a home.
Golden sunsets fade, like embers cold,
As twilight's hush descends, young dreams unfold
In secret gardens, where moonflowers bloom
And night's sweet fragrance wafts, a perfumed gloom.
Silken threads of memory weave a tapestry
Rich with the whispers of a bygone symphony
When laughter echoed, joyous, wild, and free
And hearts, untainted, beat with pure ecstasy.
Oh, Elysium, lost haven of the soul
Where love and beauty reign, and hearts are made whole
In your lush meadows, I long to roam and play
Free from the shadows that darken life's way.
Yet, like a mirage, you vanish, leaving naught
But whispers of a memory, a fleeting thought
A bittersweet reminder of life's transient dream
A yearning for the beauty that forever seems.
Still, I hold on to hope, a glimmering light
A beacon in the darkness, guiding me through the night
For in the depths of sorrow, a seed of joy takes root
And in the silence, whispers of Elysium's truth.
In the grand tapestry of time, a thread of gold
Weaves together moments, memories to behold
And though Elysium's gates may seem forever lost
Its essence remains, a beauty that forever crosses.
