Edge Case

On this beautiful night, I sit in silence.

Blood moon rising, I feel my forehead tense.

I could focus on the constellations - Orion’s belt,

Instead I’m pensive, processing how I felt.

This is it, all probabilities collapse to this outcome.

You also fit the pattern, the one I wanted a break from.

Fireworks rise, demanding my attention,

Nothing but little blurs in my peripheral vision.

Isn’t it strange, how on a night like this,

I had nowhere to look, but my internal abyss.
