ECHOES OF THE NIGHT

Beneath a blanket of inky blue,

The world stands still, guiet and cool.

The streetlamps cast a yellowish glow,

On empty sidewalks, down below.

Inside, a room bathed in faint light,

My soul in solitude, throughout the night.

A longing for my thought to be shared,

The weight of silence, hard to bear.

The moon, a silent yet perceptive eye,

Keeps me company as the day begins to die.

The city sleeps, a slumber deep,

But my eyes closed I cannot keep.

Alone I wake, a watchful eye,

Beneath a vast and moonlit sky.

Yearning for a hand to hold,

yet in this hush, my story’s told.

For solitude is a fertile ground

Where dreams and truths can all be found.

The world may sleep, the streets may rest,

But in this quiet, I’m truly blessed.

For solitude, though tough and cold,

can bloom with thoughts, previously untold.
