The Tiger In The Zoo

I am trapped.

The eyes, the eyes, the eyes-

They watch and they stare and they hunt and they track.

I am predator become prey.

The mouths, the mouths, the mouths-

They roar and they shrill and they screech and they bellow.

My ancient instincts fail me

In this artificial land.

I breath wrong.

I feel nothing, while feeling everything.

I drown in all its muchness.

And these things, are not of what I know.

This air, is dirty.

This light, has no warmth.

This place, it is apex.

But the eyes, the eyes, the eyes-

They watch.
