Echoes of our Circle

By Harshit Gupta

In a world of many, my circle was small,

But friends I had were like diamonds, shining through it all.

Each moment spent together was a treasure so rare,

Friendship’s beauty, a gem beyond compare.

In college days, meetings were simple and near,

Laughter and bonds felt so incredibly clear.

Now that those days have faded away,

Reuniting with friends seems a distant dream each day.

Nights at twelve, we’d seek tea’s warm embrace,

Assignments in KD, time could barely keep pace.

Staying up late, with friends by my side,

In those moments of chaos, our spirits would ride.

Evenings with badminton games till dawn’s early light,

Supporting each other through placements, our worries in flight.

Now we’re spread across cities, in companies so far,

The distance makes reunion feel like a distant star.

Evenings with samosas and chai post-gym’s grind,

Roaming on cycles, with freedom in mind.

Cards played late into the night’s gentle embrace,

And sometimes a guitar, adding melody to our space.

We met by chance, and our bond grew undefined,

How we became friends remains a mystery in time.

Our OneDrive is filled with photos and smiles so bright,

Yet none can capture the essence of our friendship's light.

One was racist, another often teased,

A library dweller, and a charmer with girls easily pleased.

A cricketer with high spirits, and one now married,

Our diverse group had many styles, each uniquely carried.

To Hall 2 for Bournvita, a nightly delight,

Hall 11 for tea, a ritual so right.

Hall 7 for parties, where laughter would bloom,

And Hall 10 for good food, our culinary room.

Even though time and distance keep us apart,

The memories we made are still close to my heart.

In every fond moment, I still find a smile,

Because real friendship’s magic lasts all the while.
