Echoes of Imagination

Who knows what lies out there?

Neither me, nor you have known

Something other than what is shown;

So, each reflected thought, whether of despair

Or hope, must be wholeheartedly borne.

Magical sparks emitting from mere sticks,

The mystical abilities of elves and gnomes,

As they all dwell in their homes,

From lofty castles to wheels that prick,

In our minds, every sprite roams.

Rebounding musical notes played in each heart,

Soothing and pacifying to all,

Like the burnt scarlet leaves of fall,

And each imaginary denizen plays a part,

A part of the world big or small.

Spells cast, potions stirred and used

By ancient witches and experienced wizards

Whose assistants are either cats or lizards.

All the ingredients have fused,

To bring upon sunshiny weather or blizzards.

Fortified walls guarding an unknown realm,

Spectrums of the supernatural gone undenied

And portals opening to heaven collide:

All these aspects can overwhelm

People whose minds aren’t wide.

Don’t be overcome by regret,

When each softly murmured mythical word

Is not at all heard.

For over that far away cliff of enchantment,

The echoes of imagination will be heard.
