Echo of Mother's Love

She was thunder in a bottle

Fire in a cage

Storm in a box

She was chaos contained

Her words flowed like a river

Dreams soared like the sky

Grief bloomed like a flower

And a heart deep like the ocean

She was sunshine and rain

She was storm and breeze

She was wine and water

A walking irony

With a smile of deception

A look of mischief

A whisper of challenge

And an air of mystery

She'd tickle your thoughts

And soothe your ailes

Burn your doubts

And build your sails

She'd be your anchor in the depths

And the gust of wind in your heights

For she was both your darkness and your light

In her presence, you'd feel alive.

Crisp blankets with the smell of sunlight

Rain sounds outside the window

Fluffy pillow under my head

Faint whirring of the fan

Purring of the cat

Blinking phone charger

A bookmarked novel by the bedside

A forgotten alarm

A heart beating with mine

A whisk of breath against my neck

A warm hand in mine

Long legs intertwined under the blankets
