Drumrolls

Two hearts beating like drumrolls, in this rhythm we convene,
Every stolen glance, a whispered "maybe," a future yet unseen,
Just classmates, they might say, but something's in the air,
A shy electric current, a love unspoken, a silent prayer.
Then that Friday evening, you asked me for a walk,
The library closed, the sun setting, whispers turning into talk,
We wandered aimlessly, hands brushing, words falling short,
But under that old oak tree, your silence said it all.
Two hearts beating like drumrolls, in this rhythm we convene,
Every stolen glance, a whispered "maybe," a future finally seen,
No longer just classmates, love's melody fills the air,
A shy electric current, a love confessed, a whispered prayer.
