Drowned Dreams Of Punjab

By Arpita Kapila

The fields that once stood gold with pride,

Now drowns beneath a brutal tide.

The land that fed the nation’s breath,

Now cries with silence and death.

The faces that once carried smile,

now face the dilemma of exile.

These emotions are hard to express,

Lost in the pain, too deep to confess.

Punjab, the land of golden hues,

Watch itself drowning under the blues.

The rains came heavy, too much to bear,

God’s cruel hand left nothing to spare.

But one thing to remember is hope,

It unleashes within leaving a scope.

This is all life and will be better soon,

hearts will heal, flowers will bloom.
