Drifters

By Olivia Merrie Roldant

Sometimes I wish,

I did more than exist,

Not bound by a goal,

Not lost in the mist.

No destination to seek,

No need to define,

Just drifting along,

In the ebb and the line.

No spark to ignite,

No purpose to claim,

Just living in moments,

No need for a name.

I float with the current,

No need to resist,

For simply being,

I find I exist.

A drifter unbound,

With no end to find,

Wandering freely,

At peace with my mind.

No mark to leave,

No trace to make,

Just breathing the air,

For my own sake.

Sometimes I learn,

It’s not about where,

But in letting go,

I am already there.
