Dragon & Woman

By Pamela Ibarra

In ancient tales, in castles high,

Women wept beneath the sky.

Guarded by dragons, fierce and wild,

Their freedom crushed, their spirits riled.

But now we see, with clearer sight,

The dragons weren't the foes in flight.

Both woman and beast, oppressed by schemes,

Caged by men's dishonorable dreams.

Their fates entwined in a cruel snare,

Devised by those with hearts unfair.

Yet in the shadows, truth has grown,

A bond of strength, newly known.

Together they rise, fierce and free,

Dragon and woman in unity.

Breaking chains of old decrees,

With fire and grace, they claim the seas.

No longer foes, but allies bold, in stories new, their tales are told.

For dragons guard, and women fight,

Together, they ignite the night.

This poem is a compelling call for unity and transformation, urging us to see beyond appearances and recognize the bonds that can unite disparate forces for a common purpose. Powerful.
