Do You Really Have The Power?

Do you really have all the power,

Sitting in your Ivory Tower?

Or, have we ALLOWED you to instill fear, 

In a life of freedom, we hold so dear?

With all that money, you continue the greed,

While we continue to suffer and bleed.

You do not know how to care,

How do you live with yourself, how do you dare?.

The smile on your face is full of guile,

We know you are evil, you are vile!

You are hoping for salvation because of your fame,

And we, the unknowns do not have the same.

The hope and faith we have, release the pain,

Of years of oppression, from which you did not refrain.

We are here, proud to be able to fly,

You cannot take that from us. You cannot deny.

You cannot stop the trees from blowing in the breeze,

You cannot keep us still, or make us freeze.

We can be happy, despite your trap,

To keep us in that ever widening gap.

We feed off the love we have for each other,

You cannot pretend, please, don’t  bother!

We will not ask the question “why”,

With a thankful sigh, we tell you “goodbye”

Because, we KNOW you do not have the power,

Sitting in your Ivory Tower.
