Distorted
By Sahil Dhamapurkar
There were you, standing at my heart's door, so close yet so eerie distant from entering it. I wandered in the garden, where we rendezvous every evening, waiting for you, only my hope camping beside me. Sleepless nights, dreaming with my eyes open, lying on our bed, without you there, surrounded by the dried rose petals, felt like being underwater, sinking by the iron clad despair on me. Lost in these remorseful thoughts, clawed down by dilemma of letting all go or pursuing it all again, vicious paths beholding the exit. Burnt and bruised, came looking for you all along everyday only to watch you go aback , I screamed your name in agony but, my voice won't travel past the distorted bubble around you. I stood there in a feeble state, watch you go away, tears shedding helplessly hindering my sight, hand and legs tied to the shackles of losing myself, paralyzed. Broken inside, still waiting in this maze you created around my frail soul, believing in those words you whispered when we kissed each other under the mistletoe, saying you won't let go.
