Diary of a lone traveler

The deep trench stares on one side of my road

Where much below the level of the earth

The realm of death full of darkness scares me.

Beckons on the other side

Summits of the mighty hills crowned with white snow,

Allure me with their great heights .

At the call of a glorious uncertainty,

I chose this path full of danger, short cut though,

Defying the comfort of life, safe and peaceful.

My path surprises me at every step,

Here hope and despair, failure and success, life and death,

All stay together hand in hand.

Over my head lightning runs across the sky,

Slippery road under my feet brings danger.

Chirping of the birds and sound of fountains

Provide me the tune of the infinite.

Lying on the grass, staring at the twinkling stars ,

I feel the life hovering in air above me.

My dreams cross the horizon towards the space,

My heart sways with the rhythm of wind,

I search history in the scars of sweat and blood

Left on my path by feet of millions who toiled,

On the walls of monuments I discover the wounds

Where justice is gasping under glamourof chivalry.

Let others move leisurely in their beaten path,

Lead their lives with family in cozy homes,

In the company of loving kin and zealous friends,

Let them live with their wealth,worries and laugh,

Let them embrace the monotony of hopes,

Let them jeer at my madness for unknown.

Don’t call me to your soiree to raise a toast

In the starry evening with music and dance,

Forgive me friends, I have the hurry to arrive

At the door of the poor girl, raped and deserted,

At the hut of the hungry child, victim of civilization,

Beside the dying soldier wounded in front.

If you meet me at any turn of history,my friend,

For God’s sake don’t look at my bleeding feet,

Raise your face to see my bright face glowing with joy

For beating the hurdles to reach to the millions

Crushed by those who tried to win the world,

But could not win the hearts with all their arms.
