Demons in The Light

You were scared of the darkness but now you know,

there's no demon bigger than those in your mind.

There's no bigger demon than those in your loved ones,

hidden behind the love that you pretend to understand.

You're scared of demons when alone,

but the most dangerous ones are out in the crowd.

The ones in the mind, whether empty or full,

either too empty to accommodate all of them possible,

or too full that it's only filled with

them.

When you realize this, the little demon under your bed sounds cute.

You're overthinking again,

will this demon I just called cute, come for me at night?

will this be the one I'm praying to god to be safe from while there are more dangerous

ones out in the light.
