Deliverance

By Pratham Agarwal

What choice have I made

To be forced to follow the iron

Where must I choose to be born

To live freely on this earth

What fate must I hope for

To grow up as time intended

To discover the world for myself

And not through the shackled lenses of schoolroom society

What skies must I pray for

To remain pure and uninfluenced

What life must I wish to live

To remain uneducated and still human

What right have you

To curse me with this boon of identity

What authority

To square any part of this world

To break this inevitability

And remain a raw spirit

Where must I go

To escape civilization and yet not civility

For me to feel life as it is

Which threads of destiny must be woven

To have misguided fortune on my side

What stars must I align

What choice have I made

To be forced to follow the iron

Where must I choose to be born

To live freely on this earth.
