Death Parts Us

By Dharshini

Standing at the edge of a cliff

With flowing questions of what if?

How can I forget ,

When all I have is regret!

You held your arms out in belief,

But , My, standing here in disbelief !

I saw gravity pull you down

Amidst the time slowing down

With you mouthing the word ‘goodbye’!

My body and the mortal world lost its tie

Thence , the world became blue,

And the tempest blew.

Reality and my , became a paradox , With me enclosed in a dark box.

As our body parting it’s ways- I live here counting on my days!

Did death part us ? I lament!
