Death

I felt the pain,

Like caught in fire

As it pierced my heart,

I knew, 'The end is near.'

I could feel the fear,

Overwhelming me.

As I succumbed to Morpheus,

Never to return here,

I could see the brilliant light,

That draws me near.

So beautiful and blinding;

For it must be heaven.

As I walked towards it,

I could see it dancing,

Singing it's own music

My eyes dazzled;

I could sense the freedom,

Feel the safety and the joy;

Rising inside me,

Flowing through my veins,

My eyes welled up in tears of joy,

As I saw those

My loved ones;

But left me forever,

Bringing me an emptiness,

Filling my heart, each time.

And here they were,

Hands outstretched,

Welcoming me.

A smile on their face,

Waiting for me;

Telling me; " Not to be afraid,

Dear one, For we are here,

Just for you, as always."

As I embraced them,

I could no longer;

Feel the pain, Or;

Remember my fear;

As I am united, once more

With my loved ones.
