Dearest Moon

Dear Moon,

So elegant, pearl-white,

Veiling the night with serene light.

Admired by all, a servant to none,

Alone, not lonely, and tranquil and fun.

Independent, celestial and unique.

Shimmering with your own technique.

Illuminating what you're surrounding.

Silently listening as the constellations sing.

Then patiently humming your own lullaby,

Relishing the world sleep from the sky.

Ethereally beaming at life - the best gift,

Care-free, you remain as rumors drift.

Enlightening memories with hope so deep,

As you grant me smiles and moments to keep.

Dearest Moon,

I envy you.
