Dear World

When I went to school today, they told me it was Women’s Day. A special day to respect her rights, with warm and loving wishes on display. Someday when I’ll grow up, I’ll also be wished ‘Happy Women’s Day’. But it really makes me wonder, what if the world had chosen a better way?

Would we need a Women’s Day if her voice was heard? If she felt like an equal too in the herd?

Would we need a Women’s Day if she always felt valued? If the stories didn’t always say 'she was rescued’?

Would there still be a Women’s Day when I grow up? I’m hoping the world changes by then, the time for gender biases is up. And if I still have to have a day, I rather have Everyone’s Day. Where we look at the world as one, and unbiased is our way.

If you have to give me a day, give me Everyone's Day. Where we are all valued no matter he, she or they.

If we all have to have a day, let it be Everyone’s Day. It's the one and only way, can we please start towards it today? Happy Everyone's Day!
