Dear Old Self

Updated: Sep 21, 2022

It’s such an irony,

That I call you my old self,

When you are rather,

The younger version of me!

Even though we are the same,

You & I,

View & interpret the world quite differently!

The way you did things back then,

The way you thought,

The moments you kept quiet,

And the moments you decided to speak,

Wouldn’t be exactly the same way for me,

I can see things now,

Back then you couldn’t see!

You did the best you could,

& I’ll do the best I can,

Yet not every version of us,

Will be each other’s fan!

I am built from you,

And a new version,

Shall be built from me tomorrow,

Dear Old Self,

That’s exactly how we grow!
