Father, I remember those care-free days,

when I would happily ride on your back.

The one that has

weathered many a storm,

yet to me was never denied.

The times may have scorched those tufts of hair,

on the chest that rises and falls with care.

When you sleep, peaceful and deep,

I rest knowing you are safe in my keep.

Yes, you always had my back,

But Father, now I have yours too.
