Dear Duress

Maybe I confess
To all of this duress;
And maybe it'll wander
To places I cannot squander.
But tearing my soul is it's tear;
So it must be my own,
To which I cling in hate.
Or perhaps it just blinds me so
That I feel hate for hate,
And want after the enemy so.
Cruelty it is
That I must so fight;
Fight a heavy sleep,
And a noise dreary;
Fend off a fatigue of a fatal league
Just to be it, it being myself.
And after another war
Some forgotten soul of reminisce sings;
And again I fall asleep
Adrift a calming past.
For the soul was once my own
And only in a tired lumber,
Will duress come to conquer
And will find the door already open;
The siege already laid
For I feel hate for hate.
