Dear Childhood

Dear Childhood, did you visit me last night?

You dazzled in the distant moon light

Did you call my name, did you hold my hand?

Did you take me to the place I once called my homeland?

Did we chase the dainty butterflies?

Did we tame the countless fireflies?

Did we waddle in the muddy paddy field?

Did we dress as soldiers playing sword & shield?

Dear childhood, is this a fact or a mystical dream?

When did you drift away for we were a resilient team?

Could we go on venturous adventures once again?

Back to our homeland dancing in the gentle pattering rain?
