I clutch my phone

Awaiting a call from you

All I get…

Silence

Deafening silence

1 hour passes

2 hours

Three hours, then four

Still

Deafening silence

Phone left untouched

The small glances I take,

They’re meaningless

Why?

Because you still haven’t called

I turn on the device

Yearning to see a message from you, my love

But

All I get is silence

Silence

Silence

More silence!

Piercing my ears...

Deafening silence, that’s all I’ll ever receive.
