You dance to a rhythm I cannot hear,

Yet your every thump pulsates within me.

I feel it in my core, the awakening,

A fire of passion kindled within me.

You move your hands with a grace,

That beckons me to free my soul.

You who dances for none but yourself;

My shallow needs to conform,

You consume them whole.

Your jata (dreadlocks) whirl in wild ecstasy,

Such eccentricity I seek.

Your feet trace a wisdom,

that ages eternally seek.

The profound madness of truth,

That ails all, but is tamed by you.

For the very heart's throb of life,

Oh Shiva, is danced by you.

The fool I was!

To seek the "common" and mundane;

Leaving my individuality,

To nothing but disdain.

I sacrifice at your feet,

What no longer serves me, now itself.

For I have learnt that I should bow and dance,

To none but my extraordinary self.
