Dance of a Flame

A burning flame in a dark room

Is an enchanting sight.

The flame dances

Like it’s about to take flight.

I see a dancing lady

Engulfed in the flames,

Twirling gracefully

But stuck in one place.

Dancing beautifully

As her tempo becomes faster and slower.

Her movements never the same,

From left to right she sways.

Her dance luminates the room,

She is the centre of attention.

But the show is about to stop soon

As the wick is about to end.

The curtains start closing,

The darkness, the curtains.

The room darkens

As she dances to her end.

There isn’t a cheer from the audience nor a sound in the room.

As Another candle is lit for another dance of the flame.
