Cries Stages

By Sabareesh. N

As he cries

For his niece,

And shatters his pain,

And makes a rain.

In the first stage, he cries

For hunger and cannot even bear a mosquito bite,

Which is very thin and light.

In the second stage, he cries

For his mistakes and faults,

With a very weak heart,

With thoughts of good,

Voice like Lord Krishna's flute.

In the third stage, he cries

For his sad heartbreak,

Which he cannot endure,

And cries for the thing he desires,

Which he does not need.

In the fourth stage, he cries

For his useless quarrels,

About his needed loss,

And a cry of jealousy of his friends.

In the fifth stage, he cries

Inside his heart,

As a father of a child,

Worried about his family,

The loan, and his dearest’s future.

In the sixth stage, he cries

For his lameness of body,

And the pain of his fragile bones,

Thinking he is a load to his child,

Like an umbrella in non-rain.

A cry is involved in his life—

As he comes, he cries and shouts,

And as he goes, people around him cry and shout.

This poem deeply and thoughtfully shows the different stages of a person’s life through tears. Each stage reflects real emotions—pain, regret, love, responsibility, and old age—making the poem touching and meaningful. A sensitive and powerful piece of writing—well done. 🌱✨
