Cost Of Love

I paid for love with quiet sighs,

Beneath the weight of unseen skies.

Dreams dissolved in whispered flames,

While shadows called me by your name.

You were the storm, I was the rain,

Bound to dance, yet bound by pain.

Through thorns, I walked, eyes wide,

But never saw the knife inside.

Now I stand, hollow but full,

A spark lost in a burning lull.
