Conversations With The Heart

“Are we there yet?”, she asks.

“Nope” says her heart. 

She lets out a deep silent sigh and keeps walking.

“You know, you can give up. Wait (wilt?) in your darkness, shrink in your silence. That would be easy”, suggested her heart.

“Oh but that’s easy. And you know I don’t do easy. Why to shrink when I can shriek?

I am not a shrinking violet!

I will go on even if this pilgrimage is long, the path obscure, the starts dim.

You just keep beating my heart, you just keep beating.”

And her heart smiled. ‘What a brave heart!’, it thought.
