Constellation Of You

By Keerthana K

I’ve heard people are made of stardust.

If yes, then when I lay dying,

The stardust that makes up my existence

Will fly to the night sky.

And in the innumerable twinkle of stars,

They will form a constellation of you.

No amount of darkness can swallow you.

Every star gazer, out to admire you in the dark sky—

And even when the cosmos is on the brink of its destruction,

The pattern of you will be the only thing left,

Glimmering in the vastness of nothing and vacuum.

In this way, I will immortalize you,

So the entirety of the universe can see at least

A fraction of the imprint you left on me.
