Colours of India

By Jiya

Our school is lit , our hearts are light,

as Utsav shines so warm and bright ,

Three happy days,  so full of cheer ,

a time we all wait for every year .

We dance , we sing , we listen , we play ,

we share about cultures in every possible way ,

from north to south,  east to west ,

each part of India shows its best.

From tall temples to mosque ‘s song ,

to church's prayer all day long ,

a bond between cultures proved so strong ,

reminding us of where we belong .

Though our custom may divide,

but we thrive to walk side by side,

different paths yet one belief,

with peace and harmony there is no grief.

From Gujarat's garba ,  fast and bright ,

to Tamil Nadu's Kolam made with white,

Bengal's sweets and Kashmir's chills ,

the rhythm of India slowly builds.

Spices dance in every dish ,

fulfilling even the smallest wish ,

from Dosa's crisp to coffee cold ,

it bridges generations both young and old.

Hindi runs from the nation's core ,

Tamil sings by the southern shore ,

Bengal meets poetry's stream ,

Kashmir dances in each dream.

Gujarat echoes to its own tune ,

Marathi rises high in the monsoon ,

Telugu , a language soft and clear,

a nation where no one is to fear .

So let's celebrate with an open heart ,

an adventure for 3 days is about to start,

different roots we might belong to

but time has come to know who you are ?
