Dil me jo hai likh du mai

Lafz tu keh kyu kaanpe hai

Jo hai dil me kyu dhanpe hai

Keh mera jo haal huaa

Bta kya kya bawaal hua

Vo shab jo meri neend udi

Vo subha jo meri hui nahi

Vo baatein jo talvaar si thi

Nigaahein jo samshan bani

Keh aankhein meri nam hai kyu

Keh baaton me ye gham kyu

Kyu lafz mere tu kaanpe hai

Jo dil me hai vo dhanpee hai

Kyu dur hu mai ab sapnon se

Kyu band hai baatein apnon se

Kyu sath se mai ab bhagu hu

Kyu tanhai ko thamu hu

Kyu logon se mai darti hu

Kyu kisi ki na mai sunti hu
