Changing Colours

Changing colours all around, the joy of colours once had a crown

Red, yellow, orange and now its brown

The luscious rose, beautiful and fair, has lost her beauty and her flair

I will not look, not ever, it’s beyond me to even care.

The arum stretches her neck, her slender shape so graceful and sleek

Its ghastly, unsightly, the birds pull back their beak.

The harmony of angles trumpet has lost its melody,

It hurts my ears, the music rots away like in a malady.

The daisies dance like ballerinas in the wind, with their étendre pose

But without you there this performance will close

As the sky grows dark on this façade of life

Meaningless, hopeless bombarded with strife.

I close my eyes and see you still there

Where the colours are bright before death trapped you in its snare

You held my hand and made me see beauty all around

Even when colours change from red, yellow, orange to brown.

I keep my eyes closed so as to never forget

When the colours shone brightly on the day we met

the colours are changing all around, the joy of colours once had a crown

red, yellow, orange now brown, as you slowly descend into the cold ground.
