Chains

“Who are they?” she questioned, still considerably shaken from the events that had taken place the night before.
“Chains,” he replied.
“Chains?”
“The very things that keep us from achieving goals. Restraints.”
“Looks like in your case-”
“Our” he corrected. “Remember you're stuck with me now.”
“Right. In our case, they’re people.” she finished looking out towards the alley.
“It’s always people.” He sighed. “Come on, we should get going before they find you.”
“What about you?”
“They haven’t caught me yet, I don’t think you’re gonna change that.”
