Caterpillar

By Sonika Malloth

In the centre of thousand mirrors

solitary I

chained and stained with blood

caged my rage and pride

In the centre of thousand strangers

staring into my

blank and black and dead

soul that coaled on stride

of myself unknown to me

chided, moulded carefully

every muscle of my body

veined flesh filled with sanity

waited in the heavy rain

waited silently, waited patiently

endured the weight of my chain

waited silently, waited patiently

burning under the scorching sun

waited silently, waited patiently

chrysalis enclosed in thin linen

waited silently, waited patiently

In the centre of thousand clones

pointing right at me

wield and peel my skin

inch by inch shoven

In the centre of thousand voices

dogma of reality

weed my creed of sin

yell in hell - heaven

blinded ears of my mind

hear them fear the aberrant

shriek cries of my soul grind

walls of halls left dormant

waited in the heavy rain

waited silently, waited patiently

endured the weight of my chain

waited silently, waited patiently

burning under the scorching sun

waited silently, waited patiently

chrysalis enclosed in thin linen

waited silently, waited patiently

let the rust eat away

each link

set them into a visceral jolt

let anguish break away

this clink

I am ready, I am ready to molt

shattered glasses accelerated - shiny angels penetrated

slashed every vein - endured the pain

I shed my bloody wings - I shed my barren limbs

slowly and slowly

I shed promises made - I shed my own shade

slowly and slowly

I shed everything I was taught

I shed every restraining knot

leave my endoskeleton out in the air

free of devoir - free of guilt

leave my endoskeleton out in the air

let me restart - let me rebuild
